About me and my practice
Hello I'm Bridget and I warmly welcome you. Reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, especially if youre living with anxiety, low mood, or the impact of trauma. You may feel stuck, or unsure where to begin. I offer a warm, approachable and empathic space where we can explore whats been troubling you, help you understand your experiences and ease distress. I place great importance on the therapeutic relationship and work in a relational, well-boundaried and appropriately paced way. I work well with clients seeking a supportive, engaged therapeutic relationship that allows for curiosity, reflection and gentle challenge.
Experience
I have over 12 years experience working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, abuse and bereavement. My work with medical conditions and rare diagnoses is informed by an understanding of their emotional and relational impact. I also support clients with pre- and perinatal issues. I offer a sensitive, contained and steady approach.
As a former piano teacher, I can draw on creative approaches, like listening to music or simple drawing, if you feel open and comfortable with this. This can help access emotions like shame and experiences of vulnerability that can feel hard to put into words. You don't need to know exactly what you want from therapy to begin, we will start wherever you are.
